There’s usually 8 to a table, if you have anymore then that the cards get crappy!

Well, 52 cards. 5 for the community plus 3 burn cards is 8.

That leaves 44 cards. Theoretically you could have 22 hands (e.g. - 22 players) at any given Hold ‘em table.

Wouldn’t recommend it though. I think your typical WSOP table is 10 players plus the dealer.

Casino’s set the tables for 9, but sometimes squeeze in ten for tournaments and such.

That’s really all I have to say…. we’ll since I know a little about holdem, I’ll tell you that most texas holdem tables have 9 players (for a cash game) and 10 players for a tourney. Now on-line poker is cool because you can play in a max 6 person table, head’s up, or at a 9-10 person table… and online you have a TON more options about what games and limits you are looking to play…

Texas Hold’em requires a minimum of two players. In a casino it is common for nine or ten to sit to a table. But in theory it is possible for more players to play. Each player has two cards, there are five community cards, and three burn cards. So in theory 22 players could play (44 cards) plus the board (5 cards) and the burn cards (3 cards). A total of 52 cards.

But in practical terms if more than 12 people want to play it is common to split into two tables, as opposed to trying to squeeze everyone onto a single table. Trying to fit more than 12 people on a single table starts to get a little physically impractical. As well as altering the dynamics of the game in a bad way.

Online where such a feat would be possible, you never see a table with more than 10 players, with 9 or fewer being more common.

ZCT is almost right here, i deal poker here in Vegas and most of the time you will See table with 9-10 players to start, but i have seen some it where a lot of people enter a tourney and they go 12 people per table. And Zct is almost right about the maximum number of players, but in poker you can never deal out the last card, the last card must stay in the deck, and should never be used as a burn card.

Depends what type of tournament you get involved in. Let me list the possible:
1. Heads Up - two player going heads up.
2. Single Table Tournaments - a minimum of six players to as many as 10 to a table. I regularly play at 10 player tables on line.
3. Multi Table Tournaments - anywhere from 20 to ?????. These types of tournaments are split into multiple tables consisting anywhere from 9 to 10 players per table.
